This tutorial shows how to embed the Help Scout Beacon widget (contact form, live chat, or both) into any Vvveb website using the Insert Footer Header Scripts plugin.

Below is the complete setup as a sequential, technical guide.

Create or Access Your Help Scout Account

You need a Help Scout account to generate a Beacon widget for your Vvveb site.

  • Go to https://www.helpscout.com/ and sign in

  • If you’re new, create an account and complete onboarding

  • Navigate to the Beacon section in the Help Scout dashboard

Create a New Beacon

Help Scout Beacons allow you to embed live chat, contact forms, and knowledge base search.

Help Scout Dashboard → Manage → Beacons → Create Beacon

  • Click Create Beacon

  • Choose a name (e.g., Vvveb Support)

  • Select your Beacon color and icon

  • Choose features: Chat, Contact Form, Knowledge Base, or all three

Copy the Beacon Installation Script

Help Scout provides a JavaScript snippet that loads the Beacon widget on your site.

  • Open your Beacon settings

  • Go to Installation

  • Copy the full JavaScript snippet (it starts with !function(e,t,n){...})

  • Keep it ready for pasting into Vvveb

This plugin allows you to inject custom scripts into your site without editing theme files.

Vvveb Admin → Plugins

  • Find Insert Footer Header Scripts

  • Click Activate

Paste the Beacon Script Into Vvveb

Most Important Step

Adding the script to the header ensures the Beacon loads on every page.

Vvveb Admin → Plugins → Insert Footer Header Scripts → Settings

  • Paste the Beacon JavaScript snippet into Header Scripts

  • Save your changes

  • Refresh your website to load the Beacon

Verify the Beacon Is Working

Ensure the widget appears and loads correctly on your site.

  • Visit your website homepage

  • Look for the Beacon icon in the bottom corner

  • Click it to test chat or contact form

  • Return to Help Scout → Inbox to confirm messages appear

Your Vvveb Site Is Now Connected to Help Scout Beacon

Once installed, your Beacon can provide:
